LEARN TO TASTE LIKE AN OLIVE OIL SOMMELIER
How do you taste olive oil properly?
Let me say something right away:
Tasting olive oil is not elitist, difficult, or something for connoisseurs.
It's just... paying attention. To taste. To quality. To yourself.
Most people use olive oil without really thinking about it. But if you know what to look for, a whole new world opens up. One of aroma, bitterness, fruitiness, and potency. One that will transform your kitchen.
And believe me: you will never go back.
Why should you learn to taste olive oil?
Because not all olive oil is the same!
What you find in the supermarket is often bland, old, or mixed. While a good extra virgin oil sparkles with character.
She tells something about the place, the harvest, the type of olives.
And above all: about the care and choice of the maker.
You learn to taste the difference.
You learn to choose what suits you.
And you learn to recognize when someone is trying to sell you something that isn't right.
HOW?
1. Smell
Pour a little oil into a glass or tasting cup. Warm it slightly with your hand and swirl gently.
Bring your nose to the glass.
What do you smell? Grass? Artichoke? Green tomato? Almond?
2. Tasting
Take a small sip and let the oil roll over your tongue.
Do you taste bitterness? How fruity is it? Is it soft, or firm and pronounced? Pay attention to what your body tells you; it never lies.
3. Aftertaste
Feeling a tickle in your throat? Great. That's a sign of polyphenols: powerful antioxidants that wake up your body and taste buds.
Good oil sticks. Just like good stories.
In this video, I'll show you step by step how to taste olive oil at home. No expensive equipment required. Just a little time, curiosity, and your senses.

Olive oil is for sharing.
As far as I'm concerned, olive oil is no secret. It's something that belongs on the table. Between people. In simplicity and in flavor.
I don't bottle olive oil. I bottle courage. And passion.
And I hope you taste that.

Lies
